The laboratory was established in 1976 with the cooperation of the "French Petroleum Research Institute" with the aim to study the physical properties of crude oil under conditions similar to that existing in the reservoir such as pressure & temperature and their effects on volume (Phase behavior).
The centre offers its services to the petroleum industry in Egypt through supplying studies & carrying out the required analyses to evaluate the reservoirs & the produced crude oil.
The centre has highly qualified technical personnel trained to deal with the latest technological equipment in the different petroleum fields, together with the availability of the latest equipment and laboratories on which the centre gained a sound reputation through the fruitful cooperation with international petroleum companies in Egypt and for more than 30 years.
The institute administration makes all efforts to acquire the latest equipment and most advanced instruments in order to cope with the rapid growth in the field of Petroleum Industry.
C1-1 Black Oil Analysis Lab
The Lab. Conducts the PVT analysis for Black and Volatile Oils.

e) Differential Vaporization.

Gas Condensate Analysis Lab.
The Lab. Performs PVT analysis for samples of Gas-Condensate, Wet Gas and
Dry Gas reservoirs. This Lab. was established in 2006.
