The Production department includes three main Laboratories Drilling-Fluids, Material Mechanical Tests Lab. and Improved Oil Recovery Lab.

I-Improved Oil Recovery Lab:-

EPRI - IOR Laboratory is the God father of EOR studies in Egypt. Three major research projects have been initiated and completed by the LAB team starting 1986 up to 1999. Egyptian Academy of Science and Technology Funded three projects with more than half million L.E.

       - Hot water flooding: West Bakr Oil; 1986 - 1989.

       - Chemical Flooding: Synthesis and Application of surfactant for Ras - Badran Oil Field; 1991 - 1994.

       - Steam Flooding: Issaran Oil Field; 1996 - 1999.

Currently IOR Lab. Can carryout the studies related to water compatibility such as:

       - Mud solids plugging.                                                - Fines migration and redeposition / bridging.
       - Clay swelling.                                                         - Emulsion / water block.
       - Wettability alteration.                                              - Reduced relative permeability.
       - Organic (asphaltene / paraffin) scale precipitation.     - Inorganic scale precipitation.
       - Injected particulate plugging.                                   - Secondary mineral precipitation.
       - Mineral transformation.                                            - Bacteria Plugging.
       - Six water compatibility studies were conducted for three oil companies: Khalda, Agiba and Suco.

II- Drilling Fluids Laboratory:

The following tests of drilling fluids are carrying out according to the API and OCMA specifications.

Tests:

1- Rheological properties                                         2- Standard Filtration

3- Moisture Content                                                 4- Dry Screen Analysis

5- Wet Screen Analysis                                            6- Yield.

7- Performance                                                        8- Sand Content

9- Liquid limit                                                           10- Plastic Limit

11- Plasticity Index                                                  12- Hp?HT filter loss

13- HT .Rheological properties                                 14- Particle size distribution analysis

15- Compatibility                                                      16- Specific gravity

17- Methylene Blue                                                  18- Resistivity

19- Electrical stability
