In the beginning, we have established a small local area network (LAN) consisted of 20 computers connected to Internet with band of 128KBPS .
In 2006, Egyptian petroleum research institute contracted agreement with Egyptian national Scientific & Technical information Network ENSTINET (Scientific Research Academy) for supporting technical information services. By this agreement we upgrade our Backbone network infrastructure as the following:
- 19 layer 2 switches
Type: Foundry
- 1 layer3 switch (core switch)
Type: BigIron15000
- 1 Firewall
Type: SSG 520
- 1 Router
Type: Juniper M10i
- Mail server
- Application server
With Internet connectivity of 4 MBPS.

EPRI IT staff creates the design o f EPRI Web site, then produces a layout for the site Pages normally include the following:
- HTML text.
- Hyperlinks and buttons.
- Scanned images or ready made clipart.
- Flash movies and intros.
- Flash text and buttons.
- Java script.
- Feed back and registration forms.

- Following EPRI goal to satisfy our customers, the EPRI Cyber Center is opened, where you can enjoy surfing and browsing the Internet, using your E-mail, and moreover get help from highly qualified Internet Specialists 5 hours per day.
- EPRI Cyber Center is available from 9:00 am till 2:00 pm, 5 days per week from Sunday till Thursday.
